Limulidae Cowl and Hat

Birthday Cake Welcome to Issue Four.

knitonthenet is one year old!

We can't believe how quickly the time has passed since we first worked into the early hours of the morning creating the very first issue. The thrill of the moment when the issue went live, and then realising that people were actually looking at it, made it all worthwhile.

We would like to thank all our readers who have been with us right from the start, and those who have discovered us more recently. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our contributors and advertisers over the last twelve months for their involvement.

It has been an exciting few months since Issue Three was published, with our first knitting event in November, organised by our good friends, Gerard and Craig of I Knit London. The First Official UK Stitch 'N Bitch Day featured appearances from Debbie Stoller, Jean Moss, Jane Waller, Jane Brocket and more! It was fantastic to meet so many of you on the day, so do take a look at the article and see if you can spot yourself in the photos. We hope to see you all again next year!

In October we launched our first 'Knit a Poppy' appeal on behalf of the Royal British Legion and in less than three weeks raised £350 in donations from pattern sales. Thank you so much to everyone who bought the pattern and it was wonderful to see so many of them being worn at Stitch 'n Bitch Day.

Issue Four is our biggest issue yet, with new designers, new columnists and even more articles and features. We really hope you enjoy it.

Finally, if you're on Ravelry why not join the knitonthenet group.

Best wishes
Susan & Gavin
