Alice Beanie and Scarf Set

Materials
Lazykate 100% wool handspun DK in shade Rose.
(Approx 110gms for scarf, 30gms for hat)
1 pair 4mm (US #6)needles
approx 12 glass beads

Abbreviations
yfwd - yarn forward
yrn - yarn round needle
sl1 - slip one
psso - pass slip stitch over.
k2tog - knit two together
p2tog - purl two together
Hat to fit ages 3-4 years (5-6 years)
Cast on 97(103) stitches using 4mm (US #6) needles.
Row 1(RS): K1 (yfwd, k1, sl1, k2tog, psso, k1, yfwd, k1) rep to end.
Row 2: Purl.
These two rows form pattern, rep these two rows 22 (24) times more.
Start to decrease for crown
Next row(RS): K1 (k1, sl1, k2 tog, psso, k1) to last stitch, k1 (59, 65 stitches)
Next row: Purl.
Next row: K1 (sl1, k2tog, psso, k1) to last two stitches, k2.
Next row: Purl.
Next row: K1(sl1, k1, psso) to end.
Next row: Purl.
Draw yarn through remaining stitches and sew down the back seam.
Darn in all ends.

Scarf
Cast on 32 Stitches using 4mm (US #6) needles.
Row 1: K3 *yfwd, K2 tog, K1, rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
Row 2: K3 *yrn, P2tog, P1 rep from * to last 3 sts, K3.
Repeat these two rows until scarf measures or length required.
Cast off.
Darn in all ends.
Flower
(Make two for scarf and one for hat)
Outside of flower
Cast on 68 sts using 4mm (US #6) needles.
Row 1: K1, * cast off 3sts, K2, rep from * to last st, K1. (35 sts)
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: K1, * cast off 2 sts, K2 to last 3 sts., cast off 2 sts, K1. (21 sts)
Row 4: Purl.
Row 5: K1, * K2tog, K1 rep from *to last 2 sts K2tog. (14 sts)
Row 6: Purl.
Row 7: K2tog across the row. (7 sts)
Row 8: Purl.
Run wool through remaining stitches and finish off.
Inside of flower (make 1)
Cast on 56 sts using 4mm (US #6) needles.
Row 1: K1, * cast off 3 sts, k2 rep from *to last st, K1. (29 sts)
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: K1, * cast off 2 st, K2, rep from * to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1. (18 sts)
Row 4: Purl.
Row 5: K1, * K2tog, rep from * to end. (12 sts)
Run wool through remaining stitches and finish off.
Making Up
Darn in all ends. Put each flower together and stitch through centre flowers. Sew four beads into centre of each flower as shown in photo if required.
Stitch a line of running stitch about 1.5 inches (4cm) from the cast on/off edges of the scarf and pull to gather up. Fasten off. Sew a flower at each end of scarf over gathering stitches. Sew remaining flower onto beanie.
